We are still enjoying the wonderful end of summer produce. Days are still long and warm. Kids are back in school and the “official end of summer” weekend is just around the corner. Berries are still in abundance and you want to enjoy them in full flavor. Here is a fabulous, lite dessert to enjoy.
Like many of you, I enjoy not spending so much time in the kitchen. I also want to enjoy sweets once in a while, without spending hours putting something together and baking. If you enjoy baking, by all means, make an angel food cake. There is nothing like warm angel food cake. YUM. I grab one at the local bakery. Once home, I grab my trifle bowl let the process begin.
Ingredients:
1 angel food cake
Fresh strawberries, blueberries, raspberries
1 c. Plain Greek Yogurt
3/4 tsp Powdered dark chocolate
1 Tbls Honey
1 tsp. Vanilla
1/4 tsp. Cinnamon
Slivered almonds
Tear angel food cake apart into chunks. In a bowl place Greek yogurt, chocolate, honey, vanilla and cinnamon and mix thoroughly. In a trifle bowl, layer cake, then yogurt layer, drop on berries and slivered almonds. Continue layering until all ingredients used.
Grab a bowl and dig in!
